Zara Aviary has a cuddly variety of baby birds, and some adult ones too, who are looking for homes with loving parents. Our feathery kids are hand fed with TLC, (tender loving care) and are not, I repeat NOT allowed to go home until they are fully weaned and eating on their own for at least 2 weeks. Our babies are weaned on fresh fruits and vegetables before they ever see a seed.

The reason we don't allow the babies to go home with you before being weaned is that I believe that an inexperienced person should not be hand feeding as there are too many dangers involved in this process! The inexperienced individual wouldn't have a clue about what to look out for and sadly we've heard too many horror stories, so in good conscience we are here to make sure that your new addition to your family is happy and healthy one

Depending on the availability, we have African Greys, Cockatoos, Macaws, Amazons, Eclectus, Sunconures and other Varieties of Conures, Cockatiels, Love Birds and many other types of babies. If we don't have the type of bird that you are looking for, we are usually able to find what you want and we will have the little darlings in your loving little hands.... ASAP.

Each type of bird has its own personality. The talkers are the African Greys, however that is not to say that all the others can't talk... they do big time. The Cockatoos are the love bugs, if a Cockatoo could be surgically attached to your chest for life it surely would choose to do so. Amazons are independent, playful, wonderfully intelligent kids and good talkers as well. The Macaws are the gentle giants, some tougher than others but wonderful and entertaining, and friends for life.
